Slashed fabric (see Emporia Armani, left) and strategic twists and ties (Emilio Pucci, left) made of some very sexy swimwear on the Milan runways. I wouldn't remommend wearing these against bare flesh. Layer over a bright one-piece or bikini, slip on a pair of shorts and slides, throw a women beach basket over your shoulder and dunzo. You're the hautest girl at the beach.
Antonia Marras showed models toting bags in prints taken from the jackets/skirts/dresses they were wearing. Loved the idea of a bag for a specific outfit and also mixing it up by carrying the bag while wearing a clashing print - another trend that's big for fall '09 and Spring '10.
Lace has been taken out of the attic, shaken out, and infused with cool in the Spring '10 shows. In London, Caroline Charles and Jasper Conran were among the designers who used the sometimes treacly fabric to create lush, luxe, and hipster looks. In Milan, Marni Spring 2010 also featured a cool not-your-Grandma's lace tunic dress.
Slip this on (over a slip please), then step into a pair of espadrilles and you'll be good to go next Spring.
Every now and then a lady wants to feel wrapped up like the luxe gift that she is. Aquilano Rimondi and Love Sex Money get that and created highly-constructed homages for their respective Spring 2010 lines.
Usually, sheer dresses are long, sexy, and floating in dreamy panels as a leggy model strides down the runway, but for Spring '10, in keeping with the tough girl / edgy romance vibe of the season, Fendi presented a little white deconstructed dress, while Roberto Cavalli created this rough, ruffled, gently-tiered look for his diffusion line, Just Cavalli.
